Paul and Amanda Hudson and Family - Missionaries to Uganda

Hello,
How is everything going there? I hope that you all are doing fine. I'm sorry that I haven't written in a while. We are doing fine. Many things have happened since I last wrote, but I will try to mention just a few. Last month, on Sunday night, I was preaching about Paul and Silas from Acts 16. I mentioned how that they might not have had an opportunity to witness to the Philippian jailor had God not allowed them to be imprisoned. I also said that sometimes God will allow things to happen to us and we should always look for the opportunities to witness to those that God allows us to come in contact with.
That Friday (Good Friday) at 5:30am, during a storm we were having, 60 feet of the wall surrounding our house collapsed. When the wall fell, it caused our power pole to fall into the yard. The wall also broke the water spout that was coming out of the ground, causing water to shoot everywhere. It was a mess to say the least, but praise the Lord, nobody was hurt.
It's amazing how God can remind you of things you say, so I began looking for opportunities to witness. That morning there were some men that came to see what had happened. I was talking to one of the men and he said that he was already saved. I invited him to church and then they left. He came to church two weeks in a row and then decided to join the church.
Then, the workers have been coming every day to work on the wall for over two weeks now. As they have been here I have had the opportunity to witness to them as they work. The main builder was a Catholic, and another man had studied some with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I could see that God was working in their
hearts, but they still were not ready to get saved.
This past week, there has been a big controversy here amongst the Pentecostals about things that people are accusing them of. Many people are confused because of all this, so Bro. James Pridgen went to one of the newspapers to see if they would print an article to explain the errors of their teachings, and to clarify any confusion
people might have as to whether or not we are a part of them. They did print an article, and his picture was on the front page of the Saturday paper. One man read the paper that day and came to the church to get saved. God is using this whole situation to open many doors for witnessing.
Monday, when the workers came to work on the wall, I showed them the article. I began talking to them about it, and it was like the wall that was keeping them from getting saved was completely broken down. Both of them trusted Christ as their personal Saviour.
They have now finished the wall, so yesterday we were moving the remaining pile of bricks out of our yard, and taking them to the church. As we were moving the bricks from the pile, there was a small cobra that came out. Another man from the church hit him with a stick, and I cut off his head with a shovel. Praise the Lord for His protection.
Well, I better go. We love you all.
Sincerely,
Paul Hudson

For those of you that may not know, we are working in the capital city of Kampala with Missionary James Pridgen at the Gospel Light Baptist Church. We are scheduled to begin classes to learn Luganda on March 6, 2006
Things have been exciting since we have been here in many ways:
1. God is blessing and souls are being saved. We have been able to see 11 people trust Christ so far in the soulwinning groups that I have been in.
2. The Power Situation here is not very good right now. It has been on for 24 hours and then off for 24 hours.
3. The elections are this Thursday, February 23, 2006. There is alot of political tension during this time. 3 people were shot and killed during a demonstration last week on the other side of Kampala. More people were killed the other day when a mob that was blocking a road began to run from the military. Yesterday, the opposing party supporters burned a truck that was in the road. The police had to use teargas to clear the crowd
Please pray much about this situation this Thursday.
Thank you for praying for us during this time.
We love you and we are praying for you.
Sincerely,
Paul, Amanda, Timothy Hudson
